WallBoardCalc

Free · no sign-up · works on your phone

Wall panels, without the maths.

Shiplap is what we do today. Measure your wall, pick a board style, and get the rows, the boards and the cost while you are still holding the tape measure. No formulas to remember, no engineering drawings, no ten-field form.

Everything is calculated in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, stored or sold.

How the numbers are worked out

No black box. Three steps, all of them checkable with a tape measure and a calculator.

  1. 1

    Rows

Wall height ÷ the visible face of a board. A 1x6 is 5-1/2 in on a tape, not 6 in — take the nickel gap off and an 8 ft wall rounds up to 18 rows.

  2. 2

    Boards

Rows × wall length gives linear feet. Offcuts get reused across rows, then 10% is added and the result rounds up to whole boards.

  3. 3

    Budget

Boards × the price you type in, plus brads and adhesive. Change any number and every figure on the page updates instantly.

Built for people who have never done this before

  • Three inputs to start. Everything fiddly — waste, gaps, windows — is behind one collapsed drawer.
  • A real preview, not a spreadsheet: you can see the red rip-cut row before you buy anything.
  • A shopping list in the exact wording you can paste into a store search or send to your partner.
  • Feet or metres, switchable at any time without retyping your measurements.
  • No account, no email, no cookie wall. The calculator is the whole product.
  • Every number is transparent — you can redo any of it on a scrap of paper.

A note on the affiliate links

The buy buttons next to each shopping-list line are affiliate links. If you buy through them, the retailer pays us a small commission and the price you pay is unchanged. That commission is the only reason the calculators are free and not full of banner ads. It never affects the numbers, and we are not paid to recommend a particular board.
